Nikkiann Murray is an expressive artist who is fascinated by the joy, longing, humour and sorrow in everyday figures and scenes, especially the space where urban and rural life comes together. A Toronto native who currently resides in Mèrida, Mèxico with her husband and twin daughters, she has also spent time living in South Africa and England, and has travelled extensively throughout the world.  Nikkiann has been drawn to creating art her whole life and has carried around a folder of sketches as long as she can remember. She began her formal art education as a visual arts major at the Etobicoke School of the Arts, and has since taken many courses and workshops as she is always looking for new ways to express her artistic ideas.
